Wooden Bookcase - kinds of finish

My partner and I are very passionate about reading. Whenever we have some free time we always turn to our favourite books. In fact, even if we’re in the play garden with the kids you will surely see a book in our hands. That’s how much we love reading! Oh by the way, did I mention that I am also a Speed Reading trainer by profession?

But we all know that every action has a consequence. We always buy the books we read and we all keep them. Each and every one of them is valuable to us and giving any of them away or putting them on a garage sale is certainly out of the question! And because of this, we have accumulated a great collection of books! Where on earth are we going to store all of them?! Big challenge!

We decided to buy or even create some bookcases where our valuable books can be stored nicely. The only thing is that, we have no idea what kind or model we want, what color or what material should they be made of. We both like wood because it’s natural and valuable, so at least it’s already something we know: our bookcases have to be made of wood. What we still have to consider is whether they have to be pure wood or a combination of wood and steel. Then there’s the question about the quality and of course the price. We want something of good quality but at a reasonable price. Gosh, we’re stuck! Luckily, in moments like this we can turn to our bestfriend for information, the internet.

So we searched the internet for some answers. The wide range of information we found truly amazed us! For instance, we found out that there are different kinds of finishing for a wooden bookcase: it can be black and gold finish; white, black or natural finish; oiled, lacquered, composite wood, or deep espresso; and there’s also oak, pine, maple, walnut or mahogany finish. Cool! And the search goes on…..
